American Water Sponsors Build Day for the Camden Chapter of Habitat for Humanity

Voorhees, NJ - July 02, 2007

American Water Resources (AWR), a subsidiary of American Water that administers the company's service line protection program, sponsored a build day with the Metro Camden Habitat for Humanity on June 21, 2007.

In addition to providing a $2,500 contribution to the organization, employees of AWR spent the day framing and building walls and closets in a dilapidated house located in Camden, NJ.

"American Water is committed to being a valuable member of the communities we serve," said Sharon Cameron, president of American Water Resources. "Working with Habitat for Humanity was not only a great team building experience but also a way for us to give back to communities in which we work and play."

Habitat for Humanity International is a non-profit organization that seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world.

With headquarters in Voorhees, NJ, American Water employs approximately 7,000 dedicated professionals who provide high-quality water, wastewater and other related services to about 17 million people in 29 states and Canada.
