VOORHEES, N.J. (August 24, 2017) – New Jersey American Water will be investing approximately $180,000 for the installation of new water mains in its Stratford service area. The company will be installing approximately 1,020 feet of new main in this area, replacing water main that was installed around the 1950s with new ductile iron main.
Beginning on August 28, New Jersey American Water’s qualified contractor South State will begin working along Sleepy Hollow Road, from Overhill Road to Buttonwood Road. Construction is expected to be completed by October 31, 2017 with final street restoration being completed by the Borough of Stratford. New Jersey American Water values the safety of its workers and advises drivers and pedestrians to take caution in the vicinity of work sites.
This investment will continue to improve water service reliability and increase water flows for household consumption and fire protection in this community. This improvement is part of New Jersey American Water’s multimillion-dollar program to accelerate the renewal of water infrastructure that is reaching the end of its useful life in more than 100 communities across the state.
