American Water Honored for Innovative Research

VOORHEES, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- American Water (NYSE: AWK), the nation's largest publicly traded water and wastewater utility company, announced today it has received the first ever Water Research Foundation (WaterRF) Outstanding Subscriber Award for Applied Research, which honors subscribing utilities that made notable improvements to their treatment, delivery and or management processes through the successful application of foundation research. The award was received today at WaterRF's annual Subscriber Breakfast.

American Water was selected for this award for exhibiting exemplary leadership in the development of important research as part of the investigation team on at least 14 projects during the last five years on issues such as pressure management, meter management, back flow, corrosion, and microbial management.
