American Water won the award for the Shared Services Center's (SSC) efforts to develop an enhanced performance management program to create sustainable, measurable value for the company's internal and external stakeholders. Focused on developing meaningful metrics that measure process efficiency, the SSC's performance management program resulted in numerous process improvements and was an important step in advancing overall corporate performance.
The Corporate Executive Board Force of Ideas awards recognize exemplary practices that redefine the way companies do business and that create sustainable value for organizations. Entrants submitted applications for the Force of Ideas award in Spring 2010.
