Jeffry Sterba is president and chief executive officer (CEO) of American Water, the largest investor-owned U.S. water and wastewater utility company. Mr. Sterba brings more than 30 years of exceptional operational experience and a wealth of industry knowledge to American Water.
Mr. Sterba leads a team of more than 7,000 dedicated professionals who provide drinking water, wastewater and other related services to approximately 16 million people in 35 states and Ontario and Manitoba, Canada. Prior to joining American Water on August 16, 2010, Mr. Sterba served as Chairman and CEO of PNM Resources, Inc., the parent company of PNM, Texas-New Mexico Power Company (TNMP) and First Choice Power, from 2000 until March 2010. He currently serves as Non-Executive Chairman of PNM Resources. Since joining PNM in 1977, he held a succession of positions including Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, Senior Vice President Bulk Power Services, Senior Vice President Asset Restructuring, Senior Vice President Retail Electric & Water Services and Vice President Revenue Management. From 1998 to 2000, Mr. Sterba was Executive Vice President of United States Enrichment Corporation (USEC), a global energy company headquartered in Maryland.
Mr. Sterba is a nationally recognized thought leader in the areas of energy policy, climate change legislation, renewable energy, and sustainability. He has served as chair of Edison Electric Institute, the national association of shareholder owned utilities, and chair of the Electric Power Research Institute, a non-profit center for energy and environment research. He serves on the board of directors of the Meridian Institute and is a member of the Business Environmental Leadership Council for the Pew Center on Global Climate Change. Mr. Sterba also previously served on the board of directors of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and is a recipient of the Keystone Leadership in Industry Award and numerous other national and local honors.
Mr. Sterba has been actively involved in community and economic development efforts. He served as a community board member for Wells Fargo of New Mexico, on the board of directors of the Albuquerque Community Foundation, and as a member of the Kirtland Partnership Committee. Walter Lynch
President and Chief Operating Officer of Regulated Operations
Walter Lynch is president and chief operating officer of regulated operations for American Water, the largest investor-owned U.S. water and wastewater utility company. He previously served as the president of regulated operations, and assumed this new, expanded role in March 2010. In his current role, Mr. Lynch is responsible for the successful performance of American Water's 20 regulated states, serving approximately 1,625 communities, and for leading other operations such as engineering, maintenance, SCADA, the central lab, procurement and operational risk management. In addition, Mr. Lynch leads the company's two national customer call centers, as well as the company's business transformation effort, which ensures that the company employs the proper technology and processes to execute its key strategies.
Mr. Lynch previously served as the executive vice president of Business Operations for the company's Eastern Division. The division encompasses eight states stretching from Tennessee to New York and has approximately 2,600 employees. Prior to that, he was president of American Water's Northeast Region. In this role, he oversaw more than 1,000 employees and was responsible for operations that provided more than 2 million people in New Jersey and New York with water and wastewater services. A veteran of environment-related businesses for the past 20 years, Mr. Lynch originally joined American Water Services in 2001 as president of the Southwest Region, overseeing a 12-state region with multiple business lines. He was responsible for all aspects of service delivery, business development and sales and marketing. Prior to that, he spent a number of years in the solid waste and residuals business, where he led successful start-ups and high-growth organizations. He also worked for Mobil Oil Corp.

Ellen C. Wolf is senior vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) of American Water, the largest investor-owned U.S. water and wastewater utility company. Ms. Wolf has responsibility for all financial functions, including directing and coordinating all company financial objectives and obligations; ensuring the integrity of financial statements; developing budgets for both annual and interim periods; developing cash management investment strategies; maintaining a financially solvent organization; leading Sarbanes-Oxley; and overseeing the shared services organization.
Prior to re-joining American Water in 2006, Ms. Wolf served as senior vice president and CFO of USEC Inc., a global energy company, a position she held since December 2003. In this role, Ms. Wolf oversaw all financial functions and was an active member of USEC's Business Conduct Committee and Benefits Administration Committee, and chaired the Benefits Investment Committee.
From 1999-2003, Ms. Wolf was employed by American Water as vice president and CFO. Over the course of her tenure, her responsibilities included finance, corporate accounting, internal audit, information technology services and customer services.
Ms. Wolf's career began with the accounting firm of Deloitte Haskins & Sells. After leaving Deloitte Haskins & Sells, from 1987-1999, she held various positions with increasing responsibility in corporate accounting, finance and business development for Bell Atlantic and several of its subsidiaries, including Bell Atlantic Enterprises International, Bell Atlantic Mobile and Bell Atlantic Corp. Ms. Wolf was Treasurer of Bell Atlantic for several years until she left the company in 1999.
Ms. Wolf received a bachelor's degree from Duke University and a master's in business administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She was named the "2009 CFO of the Year" by the Philadelphia Business Journal, a recipient of the "50 Key Women in Energy Awards in 2001" for her leadership and recognized by South Jersey Magazine as one of South Jersey's "Top Business Women" in 2008, which highlights South Jersey's brightest, most inspirational and accomplished area women. Kellye Walker
Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel
Kellye Walker is chief administrative officer and general counsel of American Water, the largest investor-owned U.S. water and wastewater utility company. Her position was expanded in September 2010 from her previous role as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary.
In this role, Ms. Walker oversees and provides strategic direction for American Water's Human Resources, Communications and Information Technology Services departments. Mark Strauss
Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy and Business Development
Mark Strauss is senior vice president of Corporate Strategy and Business Development. Named to this position in 2010, Mr. Strauss is responsible for working with the senior management team to link overall strategy and major growth efforts for American Water's regulated and competitive operations.
Mr. Strauss was previously president of American Water Enterprises, the non-regulated products and services division of American Water. In this role, Mr. Strauss oversaw American Water's non-regulated business units that offer operations and maintenance contract services across the United States and Canada, including water and wastewater management for military bases, service-line protection programs, design, construction and operation of community onsite water and wastewater systems, and other innovative solutions that address a variety of challenges facing the industry.
Previously, Mr. Strauss served as president and chief executive officer of Applied Water Management Group, American Water's fully-integrated water and wastewater infrastructure design, build, finance, own and operate affiliate, which provides customized water and wastewater management solutions to real estate developers, industrial clients, and small to midsized communities. During his tenure, Mr. Strauss was credited with bringing to fruition projects that include the Solaire in New York City, the nation's first on-site water recycling system built inside a multi-family residential building, to winning the Governor's Environmental Excellence Award for a water reclamation project in New Jersey.
Mr. Strauss joined American Water's Applied Water Management Group in 1997 as corporate counsel and secretary. He was promoted to the position of chief operating officer in 2002, a position he held until his appointment as division president and chief executive officer in 2003.
Prior to that, he had been with Vizzoni Brothers Construction, Inc. as vice president and general counsel. Mr. Strauss was an associate/junior partner at the law firm of Ozzard, Rizzolo, Klein, Mauro & Savo, and an Associate at the law firm of Toolan, Romond, Abbot and Domenichetti.

Emily Ashworth
Vice President and Chief Information Officer
Emily Ashworth is vice president and chief information officer of American Water. Ms. Ashworth is responsible for developing and implementing information technology services (ITS) strategies and transformation roadmap. Leading the ITS management team, Ms. Ashworth has day to day operational responsibility as well as responsibility for providing the vision for the future. She has also managed ERP programs, IT strategy development, change management programs, and many application development and implementation efforts. Prior to joining CSC, Ms. Ashworth served as a director of Business Process Integration for Pulte Homes, managing business process and system alignment, system design, development and deployment. Maureen Duffy

Maureen Duffy is the vice president of Corporate Communications and External Affairs for American Water, the largest publicly traded U.S. water and wastewater utility company. In this position, Ms. Duffy realigned American Water's internal communications team and drove its strategic direction thus ensuring consistent communications with all internal audiences. David Baker
Senior Vice President, Northeast Division and President, New Jersey American Water
David Baker is president of New Jersey American Water; the largest investor-owned water utility in the state, providing high-quality and reliable water and/or wastewater to approximately 2.5 million people. William M. Varley
President, Long Island American Water
William M. Varley is president of Long Island American Water, the largest water supplier in Nassau County, providing high-quality and reliable water services to more than 200,000 people. In this role, he reinforces and strengthens customer, regulatory and local government relationships, drives operational and financial results, and is the principal external contact for American Water in New York.
Mr. Varley previously served as vice president and manager of Long Island American Water, as well as vice president of Business Development for New Jersey and New York. Prior to joining American Water in 2000, Mr. Varley was the district manager for Layne Christensen Co., a large water supply contracting company, where he oversaw Layne's Long Island well-drilling operations. He has also worked for large consulting engineering firms Camp Dresser & McKee and Hazen & Sawyer as resident and design engineer for large wastewater treatment plant upgrades.

Kathy L. Pape
Senior Vice President, Mid-Atlantic Division and President, Pennsylvania American Water
Kathy L. Pape joined American Water in July 2007 as president of Pennsylvania American Water, the largest regulated water utility in the Commonwealth, providing quality water and wastewater services to approximately 2.2 million people in 390 communities. In this role, Pape drives operational and financial results, leads customer, regulatory and local government relationships, and is the principal external contact for American Water in Pennsylvania. Additionally, she serves as senior vice president of the Mid-Atlantic division, leading the presidents of Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia.
In April 2008, Governor Rendell appointed Pape to the Sustainable Water Infrastructure Task Force. Pape was among 30 task force members from across the Commonwealth whom the Governor selected to address the funding shortfall facing Pennsylvania's aging and deteriorated water infrastructure.
Prior to rejoining American Water, Pape served as senior vice president, treasurer and rate counsel for Aqua America Inc., with responsibility for all financing activities, billing, rates and regulatory filings, budgeting and long-range planning. As vice president, treasurer and rate counsel, Pape led the company's effort to manage numerous, successful rate cases resulting from the company's growth from a one-state system to 13 states with hundreds of systems. She also reduced the company's long-term debt costs, saving money for the company and customers.
From 1994 to 1999, Pape was employed by American Water as regional counsel and manager of finance, where her responsibilities included rates and regulatory affairs, finance, budgeting and customer service for 10 states.
Pape has also worked as vice president and corporate counsel for General Waterworks Management and Service Company, as an assistant counsel to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission and as an assistant consumer advocate for the Pennsylvania Office of Consumer Advocate.

Active in her community, Pape dedicated 15 years of service to Whitpain Township as a member and chair of its Planning Commission and as a member of its Zoning Hearing Board. She also served on the Finance Council of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and the Board of Trustees of Gwynedd Mercy Academy. She is past chair of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Association of Water Companies and serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Business Council, in addition to serving on the boards of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry and the Earth Conservancy. Pape also served for several years on the Faculty of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC). Mr. Walsh is an experienced professional with more than 24 years in water utility operations and management. He joined American Water in 1984 and has held increasingly responsible positions, including vice president of Virginia American Water and general manager and network superintendent for Virginia American Water and Maryland American Water, where he managed operations for both subsidiaries.
Prior to joining American Water, Mr. Walsh was a teacher at the Maryland Drafting Institute, where he taught Architectural, Mechanical and Engineering Drafting, as well as Technical Illustration programs. Wayne Morgan
President, West Virginia American Water
Wayne D. Morgan is president of West Virginia American Water, the largest investor-owned water utility in the state, providing high-quality and reliable water services to approximately 600,000 people. In 1991, Mr. Morgan joined American Water as production superintendent of Central Operations. He held increasingly responsible positions in operations and engineering at West Virginia American Water and in 1994, Mr. Morgan accepted the position of regional manager of Operating Services for American Water Works Service Company, Inc. In this role, he served as vice president of Operations of American Water subsidiaries in Iowa, Kentucky, Long Island, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2006, Mr. Morgan accepted the position of vice president of Service Delivery in the Northeast Region of American Water. Under his leadership, the business operations performed exceptionally well, particularly in environmental and operational compliance.
Mr. Morgan is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Water Works Association and the National Council for Public and Private Partnerships, for which he served as chairman of the Water Institute in 2002. He served on the Board of the New Jersey Alliance for Action from 2005 to 2007. He was also the American Water System representative for the U.S. Conference of Mayors Business Council in 2000.
Since returning to West Virginia, Mr. Morgan has been active in local economic development organizations. Nick O. Rowe is the senior vice president of American Water's Central Division, which includes Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Iowa and Missouri. He returned to Indiana American Water in 2001 as operations manager of the Kokomo District and after several increasingly responsible roles with the company, he was named vice president of Operations in 2010.
A native of Richmond, Ind., Mr. Allen holds certifications in water and wastewater treatment, as well as backflow prevention, in multiple states. He earned an associate degree in applied science from Crowder College, as well as bachelor's and master's degrees in geology from Indiana State University. In these roles, Moore served as a key contact for 17 different cities and several communities and managed a 300,000 customer water treatment, processing and distribution operation.
In 2005, Mr. Moore briefly left American Water to serve as vice president of operations for Earth Tech, where he oversaw a team of approximately 150 employees who delivered water and wastewater service in the United States and Canada.

David K. Little

Mr. Little most recently served as general manager for Ohio American Water, serving eight water and one wastewater district across Ohio. In the years to follow, he held increasing responsible positions in the Tiffin District of Ohio American Water and the Richmond District of Indiana American Water.
Mr. Little has been active in and held leadership positions in various environmental and civic organizations throughout his career. Mr. Little has been utilized by American Water Systems, regulatory agencies, civic organizations, and educators to speak and train on a wide variety of topics. He is also an instructor for the Operators Training Committee of Ohio. Mr. Little was elected as Chairman of the National Association of Water Companies, Ohio Chapter in 2006.

Sharon C. Cameron is president of American Water Enterprises, the non-regulated products and services division of American Water.
